The growing disregard for shared living space and poor quality is one of the consequences of living in today’s apartments. 

The harmony with nature  is one of the factors that create the quality of the house make connection between individuals in the family and the place of residence.

The relationship with nature and the environmental elements including , plants, the night sky, ,the moon, etc., has become  totally outsider to the residents.

How can we help residents feel more connected to nature?

The answer to this question is always important in our office 

This project, CHAHAR BAGH CHAHAR GHAB, was worth considering from several perspectives 

1-Its location in Kavian, from the alleys of Chaharbagh Street, as the most seasoned green walkway.

2- Conflict between the hustle and bustle of the city and the desire for peace and quiet at home 

3- Handing over the project in the finished skeleton stage with the placement of staircases  and elevators.

4-Restrictions of Isfahan municipality ordinance regulations in facade construction and  tough economic approach by employers

All these points led us to give a different and appropriate  reply to this problem. This project was built in five floors over the ground , two basement floors, and the sixth floor, respecting the setback according to the municipal rules. Attention was paid to the quality of space and the relationship between inside and outside when designing the brick shell and frame. Brick was chosen as the main material for the project, in harmony with the overall texture and considering climatic factors. Other interesting points are Implanting a single character  to each of the frames, as living paintings of human life to the soulless city, creating unique spatial sequences and making diverse perspectives.

 By making the wall of the room recede from the front and making it two layers, we wanted to create a surrounding terrace and increase the transparency of light. Finally, we made a model that is both visually appealing and functional while following rules and regulations.

This action creates a different spatial experience from the open and semi-open space. Eventually, this building was formed in Chaharbagh Street as a frame of a life.

What the fancy Mirzabig wrote about Chaharbagh Street and its buildings in the book called Rouza al-Safawieh: Four quality gardens were placed on either side of the street, with a brick and marble building above each garden. We believe that this description is connected to CHAHAR BAGH – CHAHR GHAB building.
